We are moving to plastic spools that can be recycled in NZ. Jan 05, 2026 Read More

Back in 2023 we introduced a-little-more-complicated cardboard spool, hoping to make a cardboard spool that is strong as plastic spool, that can be used in a multi-color filament box without issues. The same spool is now being used by many brands worldwide and do offer a much better quality than old simple cardboard spools.

Being the first one using such cardboard spool we do find random issues and made few adjustment in the production, but till now there are still few issues we are not able to find a permanent solution.

So in 2026, we will be starting to retire our cardboard spools, moving all our filament back to plastic spools again. This time, our plastic spool will be made by PP(Polypropylene, plastic recycling code 5), that can be recycled in your yellow lid recycle bin in NZ. Read the full story

Changes to our credit card payment method Mar 15, 2025 Read More

We have enabled 3D Secure v2(SMS verification that send through your credit card issuer bank) on our credit card payment. Due to our payment gateway provider Windcave's Merchant Hosted Payment Page APIs does not support 3D Secure feature, we have to redirecting customers to Windcave's credit card payment page to enter the credit card details and finalize the payment.

There won't be any harm to the security of credit card details, since we are still using the same payment gateway provider, and most of you should already be very familiar of WIndcave's credit card payment page due to Windcave is widely used by many businesses in NZ.

Thoughts on Kobra 2 Max Mar 25, 2024 Read More

We have decided to switch our main printer from the almost 3-year-old Anycubic Vyper to the new Anycubic Kobra 2 Max as we would like to print some bigger parts at a decent speed while with good quality outer walls. The speed Vyper provides no longer satisfying us after we have the Bambu Lab X1C, but we are still using the Vyper simply because X1C never able to print a nice outer wall as Vyper could.
