PLA(Polylactic Acid) is a polymer plastic made from biological materials such as cornstarch or sugarcane. It is similar to the material used in biodegradable plastic packaging. It melts around 200°C, depending on other materials added to it for color and texture.

Silk PLA filament is enhanced PLA filament, owing their glossy result to various additives. It normally produces impressive prints that are shiny and seemingly a bit translucent, giving them both the feel and look of being covered in silk. With this kind of filament, there’s no need to paint, as the natural appearance is already quite dazzling.
